Japan! I primarily serve in Tokyo prefecture, but am willing to travel. Please message for more details. Travel fees will apply.

The best way to remove face paint is to use a mild soap, like a baby shampoo, and rub it over the paint directly, without water. This will help break the paint down. Then use a dark, damp washcloth to wipe the paint away, being careful to wipe away from the eyes to avoid any glitter transfer.
If the paint is still showing on the skin, using micellar water or even coconut or olive oil can help remove the paint.
Please note that light, temporary staining is a risk which can be caused by many contributing factors including: how dry your skin is, skin pigmentation, the color and brand of paint used, etc.
To remove glitter tattoos, wait until they come off or gently remove with isopropyl alcohol (91% works best).

Once you are ready to take the body paint off, you can use Coconut Oil, mineral Oil, Baby oil, or water-proof make-up remover. For coconut oil, mineral oil and baby oil, rub on the skin until you see paint start to move. If you warm the oils up first, it is a bit easier for the paint to wear away, then allow time for the oils to set on the skin for a few minutes, then with slight abrasion wipe away. Once most of the paint is wiped away, you can then add soap on skin and then water and bathe as usual. The longer the paint is worn, the easier it is to come off when you are ready.

To maintain high sanitation standards, I:
Keep my hands, work surfaces, supplies, customers, and painting surfaces clean through the use of hand sanitizer, wet wipes, soapy water, clean rinse water, rubbing alcohol, etc
Wear face coverings as needed or requested
Use fresh sponges for each customer
Use professional grade, FDA compliant, antimicrobial face paints
WILL NOT paint anyone with signs of broken skin or illness (including allergies)
WILL NOT paint any person showing signs of fear or distress
WILL NOT paint any person under the age of 3
Please understand that while face painting is safe and very low risk, there is still a chance of skin having an allergic reaction to any cosmetic product. Face and body art requires connection and skin contact between multiple people, so where it is clean and safe it cannot be STERILE like an operating room!

It depends on the event and the type of design each person wants. On average, I can paint approximately 10 people per hour for birthday parties, where the designs are more detailed and customized. Speed painting for larger volume events can be done, but requires a lot more time to prepare and product to use. Due to this, speed painting events may incur additional costs.

This is dependent on the person, but generally face paint is very safe. If you have a history of reaction with face paint, you should not get painted. I am always happy to provide a 30 min test paint to see if a reaction will occur.
If a reaction does occur, I will wipe off the paint as quickly as possible and recommend you or your child go to the nearest bathroom to wash it off with soap and water.
Please note that aggressive rubbing on the skin to remove the paint or using abrasive removers and harsh soaps can affect skin sensitivity and cause a reaction.

Nope! I can paint other appropriate body parts such as arms, legs, and even bald heads! I can also paint your precious baby bump for your maternity photos!

The EPA recommends you do not leave face paint on overnight as it can irritate the skin. Not to mention it might rub off on your sheets!

I will bring the painting supplies, table, and chairs to each event. Only professional grade, FDA compliant paint will be used and proper hygienic precautions are always taken.
You will be responsible for ensuring the artist (me!) is in an area safe from the elements (i.e. extreme sun/heat, cold) and for providing sufficient shelter and lighting. You will also be responsible for the behavior of your guests and will be responsible for managing the line, if necessary.
You must have an alternative plan for inclement weather if the event is outdoors. Refunds are not given for cancellations due to weather. Payment will be refunded only on a case-by-case basis (for example, if artist is sick).
My terms are standard, and I’ll be happy to review my contract with you in greater detail and answer any questions you may have.

This is a personal choice that a lot of face painters echo.
Some FDA compliant paints are not suggested for children under 3, so painting children that young would invalidate any insurance coverages.
A child’s skin is still developing until around age 3 and exposing them to external products such as face paint could lead to sensitivity towards the product down the road.
A child needs to be able to understand what is happening to them and state for themselves what design they want in order for me to paint them.

The expenses involved in professional face painting might surprise you. The products, insurance, travel, training courses, practice costs and cleaning costs are substantial. So other than a choice few events each year, I do not donate my services for free. I would be delighted to discuss how we can help raise money for your charity or fundraising events. Visit my fundraisers FAQ for more information.
